Li-Ning Wade 808 6 Ultra Preview: Materials and Construction

The Li-Ning Wade 808 6 Ultra continues the series’ removable midsole concept, combining a knit upper, dual-density cushioning, and exposed support components with a highly technical visual design.

This is an early preview based on currently available sample images and confirmed specifications. The final materials, finishing, weight, fit, and performance may differ on the retail production version.

Knit Upper and Distributed Overlays

The shoe features a knit upper covered with circular overlays in different sizes and densities. Rather than relying on large reinforcement films, these elements are distributed across the upper while also forming the shoe’s most recognizable visual detail.

The lacing area includes separate loops and localized reinforcement pieces, continuing the 808 series’ lightweight and performance-focused construction.

Dual-Density SUPER BOOM Drop-In Midsole

The Wade 808 6 Ultra uses a removable dual-density SUPER BOOM drop-in midsole.

A higher-density outer carrier forms the more supportive section of the unit, while softer foam is used in the forefoot and heel zones for cushioning.

The heel also includes an additional LIGHT FOAM ULTRA insert as part of the cushioning setup.

Unlike a conventional fixed cushioning platform, the dual-density SUPER BOOM system is housed within the removable drop-in midsole.

Forefoot TPU Support Frame

A TPU support frame is positioned around the forefoot to add structure to this area.

The translucent lateral panel contains multiple rounded elements and an iridescent finish. Combined with the black-and-blue circular detail and silver-gray upper, it gives the shoe a layered and mechanical appearance.

The reflective sections of the upper may also appear different under changing light conditions, shifting between silver, blue, and subtle rainbow tones.

Full-Length GCU Outsole

The outsole uses full-length GCU with continuous herringbone traction.

A large circular pivot zone is positioned under the forefoot, while a smaller concentric section appears under the heel. The rest of the outsole is covered by dense directional traction lines.

Its actual grip, dust performance, and durability will need to be evaluated on the final retail version.

Initial Takeaway

The currently confirmed features include:

  • Knit upper
  • Removable dual-density SUPER BOOM drop-in midsole
  • Higher-density outer carrier
  • Softer forefoot and heel cushioning zones
  • Forefoot TPU support frame
  • Heel LIGHT FOAM ULTRA insert
  • Full-length GCU outsole

Based on this early look, the Wade 808 6 Ultra focuses on engineered textiles, zoned cushioning, TPU reinforcement, and visible structural details.

However, this remains a preview of the current sample. The final material quality, weight, fit, cushioning feel, traction, and overall performance should be judged only after the retail production version becomes available.
