Nicknamed “the legend of Gotham, the abyss of evil,” this colorway brings a triple-black monochrome dark presentation to SPO’s updated Player 1.5 silhouette. Built for elite court feel, it uses a modular drop-in midsole system that allows you to swap cushioning foams to fit your personal playstyle.
Design Concept: Gotham
A gritty, tactical, nighttime aesthetic drawn from comic lore — triple-black execution with zero visual noise. Heavily inspired by classic low-top Nike Kobe geometry, the ankle collar is dropped completely for maximum ankle mobility and zero latency. The upper is constructed from breathable screen mesh blended with high-strength TPU and Flywire-style cabling strands for a highly durable, lightweight outer shell.

- Explosive 2.0 Drop-In Midsole: Full-length PEBA-based super-shoe compound — soft, springy bounce directly underfoot while remaining exceptionally lightweight. Fully swappable for custom SPO setups.
- Cat-Tongue No-Slip Grip: Abrasive, directional microfiber inner heel lining — slides in smoothly, grips firmly when pulling up, completely eliminating heel slippage
- Carbon Fiber Support Matrix: 3D carbon fiber heel counter for rear-foot stability + extensive midfoot carbon fiber shank to manage torsional twisting during explosive cuts
- Smooth Heel-to-Toe Flow: Curved chassis layout above an extended EVA foam heel base — eliminates the stiff, blocky heel strikes common in older cupsole builds
Sizing & Fit
- True to Size (TTS) for Most: Fits standard and narrow foot shapes at true size. SPO re-engineered the foot last for the 1.5 generation — wider toe box and flattened internal foam sidewalls fix the pinky-toe crushing from the previous Player 1 Plus.
- Wide Feet: Size up 0.5 to comfortably clear the lateral anti-pinch TPU containment wall without pressure.
