The Li-Ning Wade 808 Series is a specialized performance basketball line within the Way of Wade (WoW) brand, best known for its drop-in midsole technology. Inspired by the legendary Roland TR-808 drum machine, the series is designed for agile players who prioritize a low-to-the-ground court feel, responsiveness, and precise traction.
The series has evolved significantly through its recent 4th and 5th generations, focusing on supercritical foam and stability.
· Wade 808 5 Ultra (2025): The current flagship of the line, it features an upgraded Super BOOM drop-in midsole, which is lighter and bouncier than the standard BOOM used in previous models. It incorporates a Cotton Candy or Oxygen colorway and utilizes a combination of TUFF RB and GCU rubber for elite indoor traction.
· Wade 808 4 Ultra (2024): Notable for its improved stability, this model features a full-palm TPU and a carbon-fiber plate to prevent rollovers. A key design element is the return of the velcro midfoot strap in some versions, ensuring a secure lockdown even if laces loosen during play.
· Wade 808 3 Series: This generation was a fan favorite for its variety, offered in four branches including the Ultra V2 and Ultra V2 Low, which utilized wires on the toe box for robust lockdown.
